Vorlesung Datenbanken und Informationssysteme

General Information

Thursday lecture: 08:00-10:00 in lecture hall Phil C, starting on April 4th
Monday lecture: 12:00-14:00 in lecture hall Phil A, starting on April 7th.
Prerequisites: the module DIS requires comprehension of the content presented in the module GDB (most recently held in winter term 15/16)! All DIS participants are advised to catch up on the subject matter on their own, if necessary. Some of the essentials are explained in the book 'Kemper/Eickler: Datenbanksysteme - Eine Einführung, 6th edition, Oldenbourg' in Chapters 1, 2 (without 2.13), 3(!), 4(!), 5 and 9(!) and in the document Härder: Mehrwegbäume.
Computer workstations: for the exercises, there are about 20 computer workstations available in the rooms F-531, F-529, F-526 and F-525. These workstations are reserved exclusively for DIS exercises during course hours. Depending on their availability and in accordance with the VSIS teaching team, the workstations can also be used at other times.
Requirements to obtain a certificate (Übungsschein)
