The basis of the Basic Research Component Development Environment is the concept of a holistic software development process, which supports design and implementation of software systems as well as updating and maintenance. Based on so-called Adaptive Software Composition, evolutionary growing software solutions can be realised. In the sense of Component Ware, building blocks of such solutions can be recombined and reconfigured within some domain to acquire new solutions.
