A Subproject of the German Priority Research Program on "Intelligent Agents and Realistic Commercial Application Scenarios"

Research Areas

The MedPAge project consists of three main fundamental research areas as shown below. The University of Mannheim is investigating the hospital domain and is interested in formulating suitable scheduling coordination algorithms for multi agent systems (MAS). The University of Hamburg focuses its research on fundamental MAS conceps and the relevant techniques for building sophisticated agent systems. By clicking on the themes you can have a look at some of our preliminarily results.

Agents

Theories (BDI, etc.)
Languages (Agent0, AgentSpeak, etc.)
Communication (Speech-Act, ACL, etc.)
Modelling (AUML, etc.)
Platforms (FIPA-OS, JADE, etc.)

Scheduling

Coordination mechanisms such as:
MedPaCo,
Distributed constraint satisfaction problem (DCSP),
(Generalized) partial global Planning (GPGP),
Constraint partition and coordinated reaction (CP & CR),
Maketmechanisms (Auctions),
Distributed constraint heuristic search,
...

Hospital Domain

Design of variable clinical pathways
Formulation of domain relevant scheduling criteria
