An agent itself has some external structure
and several internal architectures with respect to the used
mental concepts are known. Additionally several different
AI approaches exist to make agents more intelligent by enabling
them to deduce facts or learn new facts.
To become part of a community the agent has to be capable of
communicating with other agents. In this context esp.
the concepts of communications (ontologies) and the mechanisms
of communications (protocols) are interesting subfields.
Another aspect of the agents participation in a community
is the struture of the community itself. Social structures
describe the (varying) relationships between different agents
(e.g. boss, friend). Social structures are the requirements for
achieving and establishing team-work.
The software agent resides on a special place. Mobility aspects
describe on the one hand mobile agents resp. mobile code and on the
other hand they can refer to mobile devices on which an agent is
located.
